BYOI – The Very Important History of East L.A.

I20160617_201839t’s 7:00 at the Warwick Museum of Art and that means it’s time for BYOI’s Family-Friendly show! Tonight our cast was Josh, Ian, Emily, Alan, David, and Amy, and our Featured Audience Member was Charlotte. She’s a student who likes Paris, cats, and chocolate chip cookies. Our first game of the night was Growing and Shrinking Machine, which featured scenes in Texas, the post office, and Nabisco’s headquarters. Then we played Freeze Tag, where we saw scenes about the Statue of Liberty getting tired of holding her book, sadistic foreign chiropractors, bobsledding the wrong way, and trombone injuries. Catch Phrase was next, where one person could only say “I’m so excited!” and “Where are the lawnmowers?” while the other could only say “That color looks good on you” and “Where’s our room?”.

This was followed by Dating Game, where our lovely bachelorette had to choose between Uma Thurman, Hawaii, and a rotten avocado. Up next was Say It Again, where we saw a scene about cowboy hats. Greatest Hits was next, where we heard such famous songs as “Gimme Gimme All the Crayons”, “Oh, How Those Colors on the Braces Go”, “Spongebob’s Stupid Stuff”, and “Hidey Hidey, Made Dave Scream!” Then we played Sit, Stand, Lie Down, where we saw a scene about an extravagant lazy anteater. Our last game of the night was Story, Story, Die, which told the story of “Boston Jane.”

BYOI – Bora Bora Was Not Boring Boring

It’s20160617_190230 6:00 at the Warwick Museum of Art and that means it’s time for BYOI’s Youth Collective pre-show! Tonight our cast was Gabby, Jillian, Rachel, Rose, Ally, and Charlotte and our Featured Audience Member was Eric. He’s a teacher who likes Pecan Pie, the beach, travel, Bora Bora, and dogs. Our first game of the night was Greatest Hits, where we heard such famous songs as “This Baked Potato is Not Half-Baked”, “Three Cheers for Ham”, and “Alphabetical Addition”. This was followed by Fortunately / Unfortunately, where we saw a scene about an iguana with failed brakes. Up next was Chainsaw, where we saw a surgeon, Antarctica, and crutches turn into a baker, inside an igloo, and a baby. Then we played Famous Last Words, where we heard the last words of such things as the Big Blue Bug, a toothbrush, a teacher, deodorant, and the Washington Monument. Our last game of the night was Sing It, where we saw a scene about a lawnmower.

Tonight our cast was Daniel, Ian, Amy, David, Emily, and Jonathan, and our Featured Audience Member was Jonathan. He’s a student who’s into gaming, programming, Italy, and horror movies. Our first game of the night was FAM Typewriter, where we saw a book about doing coding research for a government rebellion video game. Next up was Fortunately / Unfortunately, which featured a scene about seals, polar bears, and whales on the beach. This was followed by Post-Its,

Excuses, Excuses was next, where Emily was late to work at the underwear factory because she overslept, got stuck in a parade, and dropped her Egg McMuffin because she had a Martian in her car. Then we played Revolver, where we saw scenes about Cookie Clicker, micro-Google, Canadian thriller, and Pong. Next up was Greatest Hits, where we heard the great picnic-related hits “Oh No, Not the Ants!”, “Is That Potato Salad?”, “Pass the Cold Cuts”, and “2974: The Picnic.” This was followed by Tableau, where we saw such scenes as the Outback, an ice cream parlor, a Scottish skirt factory, a pub, and a singles club. Our last game of the night was Do Run.

BYOI – Tired of the Googles

I20160603_201946t’s 7:00 at the Warwick Museum of Art and that means it’s time for BYOI’s Family-Friendly Show! Tonight our cast was Daniel, Jonathan, David, Emily, Ian and Amy and our Featured Audience Member was Carolyn. She likes England, history, board games, bread & cheese, and swimming. Our first game of the night was FAM Greatest Hits, where we heard such hits as the country hit “Bread”, the metal song “Rage!”, and the great 80’s power ballad “Bending Metal”. This was followed by Action Figures, where we saw a scene all about arguing lifeguards. Two-Headed Monster was next, where we saw a scene about chaotic robots taking over Whole Foods.

Then we played Everything Emporium, where we saw customers who wanted such unusual items as a robot that tells history, singing poop, and an ice-skating hula girl. Up next was Remake, where we saw a scene about playing Monopoly in such genres as a chick flick, horror, and a post-apocalyptic sci-fi documentary. This was followed by Debate Club, which started off being about unicorns, went through being about extra-large snacks, whale teeth, wage gaps, and secret x-rays, before ending up being about excellent dental coverage. Highlander was next, where we saw a scene about about Queen Elizabeth I ascending the throne. Our last game of the night was Irish Ditty.

BYOI – My Head Is In The Taffy

Tonight our cast was Josh, Kennedy, Daniel, Alan, and Jonathan and our Featured Audience Member was Nate. Our first game of the night was Say It Again, where we saw a whale watching expedition have problems with an aggressive elephant seal. Then we played Action Figures, where we saw a scene about making candy. Centerpiece was next, where we saw scenes featuring a nurse, Alabama, and being deceitful.

This was followed by Dating Game, where our lucky bachelorette had to choose between a whisk, a tropical vacation, and handcuffs. Up next was Questions, where we visited Oz with G.I. Joe and a snapping turtle. Then we played Debate Club, where our topic started off being about the size of blue whales, but ended up being about phone calls from the Dalai Lama. Serious Scene was next, where we saw a scene about peanuts. Our last game of the night was Curtain Call.

Tonight our cast was Josh, Kennedy, Daniel, Alan, and Jonathan and our Featured Audience Member was Rose. She’s a student who likes Mystic Seaport, Bob Ross, and miniature cows. Our first game of the night was Day In The Life, where we saw Bob Ross visit Rose’s math class. Try That On For Size was next, where we saw such actions as washing armpits, stealing leaves, and keeping your head from flying away. This was followed by Sing It, which featured a scene about “The Ater”.

Up next was Chainsaw, where we saw a pianist, a church, and a magic marker become Pac-Man, “a place near swords”, and a laser. Then we played Pillars, where we saw a scene in a tartare restaurant kitchen. Because I Said So was next, where we saw California trendsetters, people-eating sharks, and kale on pizza. This was followed by Freeze Tag, where we saw scenes featuring Renoir painting a yellow dot, birthday pancakes with frosting, and pictures of rocks. Our last game of the night was Do Run.

It20160520_185447‘s 6:00 at the Warwick Museum of Art and that means it’s time for BYOI’s Youth Collective Pre-Show! Tonight our cast was Emmie, Idallis, Maddie, Noah, and Carolyn and our Featured Audience Member was Myah. She’s a student who likes bike riding, and thinks the creepy neighbor is a spy. Our first game of the night was Centerpiece, where we saw scenes about emo/happy, feeding the dog, CAR!, and #stars. Trolley Stop was next, where we saw such interesting characters as talk show hosts, retailers, meteorologists, and beach bums.

Then we played Timmy in the Well, where Little Red Riding Hood got frostbite at a Hawaiian resort. This was followed by Back in My Day, where we heard about how they didn’t have such things as the government, avocados, emo kids, language arts, and John Wayne. Up next was Short Cutz, where we saw scenes featuring shady TV salesmen, students who can’t tell books from computers, and a collector of one-eyed animals. Our last game of the night was Debate Club, which started off being about stars, but ended up being about how Carolyn makes mashed potatoes.

BYOI – The Ten-Year Hamper

I20160513_220417t’s 9:00 at the Warwick Museum of Art and that means it’s time for BYOI! Tonight our cast was Meredith, Ian, Daniel, and Alan, and our Featured Audience Member was Kelly. She’s a CNA who likes movies, Egypt, and arguing with her husband. Our first game of the night was FAM Remake, where we saw the film of Kelly’s life remade as a B-grade horror film and then an epic Greek historic odyssey. Then we played What Are You Doing?, where we saw such actions as herding wildebeests, flinging spaghetti, Village People dancing, and pillow stealing. Catch Phrase was next, which featured a scene in hell where one person could only say “Can you get me some water?” and “Shut up, you’re an idiot!” while the other could only say “What is that?” and scream.

This was followed by Chainsaw, where a carpenter, a lake, and a pen become a baby puncher, the middle of an intersection, and a ballpoint. Next up was Pillars, where we saw a scene about waiting in line at the grocery store. Then we played Busta Rap. Highlander was next, where we saw a scene about the spread of infectious care bears. Our last game of the night was Spelling Bee, where our cast had to spell such words as “money”, “interests”, “terabyte”, and “psychogenic”.

BYOI – Humans With Shovels

Tonight our cast was Meredith, Ian, Daniel, Alan, and David and our Featured Audience Member was Lucian. He’s a kindergarten student who likes writing, TV, dogs, and swimming. Our first game of the night was FAM Centerpiece, where we saw scenes about a lonely firefly, Alvin & the Chipmunks, Rachel, and summer. Next up was Trolley Stop, where we saw such unusual characters as elderly yes-men, 60’s sci-fi robots, and unhelpful Igors. Then we played Short Cuts, where we saw scenes featuring singing about food, homemade champagne fountains, and rubber doughnuts.

This was followed by Timmy in the Well, where Morgan Freeman got rubber treats while trick or treating at a coffee shop. Lines From a Cup was next, where we saw a scene about kindergarten in the Bermuda Triangle. Then we played Back in My Day, where we saw how they didn’t have hedge fund managers, the planet Mars, or squirrels. Next up was Growing & Shrinking, where we saw scenes about pasta makers, unimaginative mad scientists, and the biggest bunny ever. Our last game of the night was Debate Club, which started off being about how they created the voice for Alvin & the Chipmunks, meandered through rhythm & rhyme, trolls keeping the goat population down, cats don’t come from bears, and up being about how Meredith knows lots of things.

Tonight our cast was Carolyn, Cat, Emmie, Idallis, Maddie, Meghan, and Noah, and our Featured Audience Member was Ian. He’s an IT Support Manager who likes reading, the Galapagos, and platypuses. Our first game of the night was FAMlander, where we saw the robot upraising playing Minecraft. Then we played Quickest Minute, where we saw the story of Frozen in just one minute and then much less. Press Conference was next, where we saw that Cookie Monster invented the ultimate Sham-Wow that can soak up ANYTHING. Our last game of the night was Busta Rap.
