FAM2 102414We’re back for the 9pm show recap at the Warwick Museum of Art, once again with Cyn, David, James, Daniel and Alex L! The show’s FAM was Tom, who is a computer engineer. He loves riding his motorcycle to the beaches and came to the show with his wife, Joanne, and her coworkers. Joanne says  Tom has a great sense of humor and he said her smile makes him smile. Everyone say “awwww” with me! The cast made a scene about Tom’s life in FAM Remake where Tom wanted to be alone on his bike but was haunted by wandering sushi. The horror, student documentary and scifi versions were just as fun. In Meanwhile, toddlers knocked down Legos, the pizza guy was hit with a shovel and customers just needed rocks and sand. Chainsaw had brave audience member Nicole jump in to get killed. A teacher was in Hawaii with snow skis, but as always, the occupation, location and object ended up lost in miming translation. In Slogans, we heard the new taglines for video games, psychology and sushi.

Say It Again featured Daniel, David and Alex at work at a failing family business with questionable accents. Next up, Daniel was looking for love in the Dating Game. His potential dates were Cyn as Abraham Lincoln, James a someone who hiccupped all the time and Alex, the tube of toothpaste. In Highlander, there was a great catastrophe and everything was opaque. Poor James had to perform the last time alone and did great! The night ended with Spelling Bee, with myself and Nicole jumping on stage with the cast. We spelled works like Portsmouth, engineer and sayonara…kind of!

FAM1 102414Welcome back to another night at the Warwick Museum of Art! Our 7pm show had David, Daniel, Alex L, Cyn and James on stage. The show’s FAM was Nicole! She’s one of our regulars and her family members have been FAM, but she hasn’t been before. Nicole is driven, teaching ESL to kids. She loves her family and amused everyone with stories of a coworker who is a little overzealous when it comes to the copy machine. In FAMily Reunion, Nicole was on a flight to Germany with her mom, brother and copy machine-toting coworker. In Action Figures, David and Daniel were moved around by Cyn and audience member Linda. They threw polite gang signs to each other and used their vrooming mopeds to speak better Spanish. In Two Headed Monster, Alex and audience member Chachi found pink colored moss in the woods with Daniel.

Pavlovian Response had James in charge of Cyn and audience member Rob as they cleaned up rats after a soccer game. The game featured home runs and tons of movement. Remake was next, with audience members Theo and Daniel helping out. The game started as a buddy comedy called “Nonstop Spanish” where we learned burittos en espanol is tacos. The scene was then redone as scifi and historical romance. World’s Worst had the cast joined by audience members Kevin, Rose and Chachi. The worst printer was where it kept spitting out white pages! Sports Commentator featured Daniel and Kevin competing in a dishwashing competition while James and audience member Daniel explained everything. The game ended when one competitor lit the plates on fire, which made the competitor win, since the dishes were then dry. The final game of the show was Highlander, where the cast walked us through rehearsal for the One Direction ripoff band, Juan Direction. David had to perform the scene all four times in the end. Calm down, Avocado!

20141024_184806-2Tonight with the BYOI Youth we have Emily, Rose, Rob, Rachel & Alexia with our FAM Zoe. She works in a kitchen, would be a chocolate chip cookie because it’s classy and wants the super power to fill things up! So in Typewriter a sled accident lead to a shrub fashion show.

In What Are You Doing we learned some people are too short to punch. It’s time for a Emily Party Quirks we had someone with a Napoleon Complex, a dragon trainer and someone who wants lasagna. Next up is Story, Story, Die where Teen Wolf had cake for dinner and they had an Indian cook who made curry noodle pizza. (We also learned that none of these people have ever seen Teen Wolf.) In Sit, Stand & Lie Down we cured Miliaria. And finally in Do Run we sang the night out!

20141017_220530It’s 9:00 at the Warwick Museum of Art and that means time for BYOI! Tonight we had Candice, Josh, Cyn, James and Ian and our Featured Audience Member was Marissa. She’s an insurance underwriter who likes snuggling, pizza, and elephants. Our first game of the night was FAM Pillar, where we learned that chickens hate citrus and wisdom teeth, and that you have to purple your rope. (Can “purple” be a verb? It can now!) Next up was Lines From a Cup which was a scene all about snorkeling in Alaska. This was followed by Sports Commentator which featured Olympic ear cleaning where one contestant misused a Neti pot and we were all reminded of the syringe disaster of ’36.

Rope was next, where we saw rash no. “A” and the fact that everyone loves $5. This was followed by Revolver which was all about West Virginia tacos, cookie monster diabetes, and yellowjackets. Next up was Chainsaw where we saw a cashier become a magician, a pirate’s treasure box become a motorcycle, and a cutlass become just a plain old sword. Then we played Helping Hands which featured two pizza-makers, a well-seasoned face, and a lack of finger pizza. Our last game of the night was Story, Story, Die where we saw Sarah Palin take down a bear with her suit.

20141017_200328It’s 7:00 at the Warwick Museum of Art and that means it’s time for BYOI’s family friendly show! Tonight we had Candice, Josh, Cyn, James, Ian and David and our Featured Audience Member was Jonathan. He’s a newsreader who likes classical music, England, and would have X-ray vision if he could have any superpower! Our first game of the night was Typewriter which was all about the great new book “The Low, Low Oboe” where we saw that the oboe was not as popular as the clarinets – but at least she didn’t get mistaken for a stick when the dog came to fetch! This was followed by What Are You Doing? where we saw such actions as shaving a cat, painting a sophomore, and turning up the bass. Next we played Action Figures in which such memorable lines were spoken as “Here’s the church, where are the people?” and “You’re British, but I’m levelheaded.”

Party Quirks was next, which featured such unusual guests as a banjo, a handyman without a saw, and a magician’s rabbit (with no magician). Then we played Questions and learned that the lighting can make you look like your son, the pain of dodgeball flashbacks, and that you can never be on too much medication. Next up was Story, Story, Die which was a wonderful story all about how to train your panda choir – and which featured a death by the soprano pandas. This was followed by Sit, Stand, Lie Down in which we learned that radio station employees just listen to music all day long. Our last game of the night was Do Run which taught us the valuable lesson that math is much easier when you’ve had a bath.

20140711_203127It’s 6:00 at the Warwick Museum of Art and that Means BYOI’s Youth Collective show! Tonight we had Dylan, Emily, Rose and Rachel and our Featured Audience Member was Linda. She’s a job coach who likes Pandas, the color blue, and Australia. Our first game of the night was Sing It where our cast sung songs with such diverse topics as how artificial bamboo tastes better, the zookeeper who doesn’t like pandas, and how eating dynamite can make your mouth hurt. This was followed by Try That On For Size where we saw such activities as surfing down river rapids, having lunch while holding a brick, and washing the dishes.

Next we played New Born, where Dylan was a pizza, Rachel was Mount Rushmore, and they welcomed their new baby Stevie Wonder into the world.  Spelling Bee was next where the cast had to spell such words as spatula, problematic and superfluous. Then we played Four Pack where we learned the valuable lesson that murder requires you to pay attention. Our last game of the night was Debate Club which was, in its own “meta” way, about arguing.

20141014_182929On this lovely Tuesday evening, BYOI was outside in Central Falls putting on a show for the Children’s Friend Night of Joy event. It was Candice, Amy, Cyn and Myself with our new FAM Hector. He loves Math, Puerto Rico and the Ninja Turtles. He also helped us out in our first game Pillars where we found the best way to get household pet heroes is to put a window in the floor to the sewer and a front door in your kid’s bedroom for easier pizza delivery.

Next up was a Two Headed Monster that found the Puerto Rico Fire Department loud and annoying. In Good Cop, Bad Cop we caught Cyn stealing a princess crown from New Jersey with Ariana Grande. Then in Highlander I was stuck claiming all six of the countries flags in the house, even the Country of Florida. Trolley Stop had us running up and down the side walk and finally Action Figures found Candice and I failing to break out of prison.

What a great night and a fun crowd! Thanks for having us!
