FAM2 112814Welcome back to the Warwick Museum of Art for the last regular show of the year! This time we had Daniel, Josh, Candice, Alex L, Amy and James on stage. The FAM was Olivia, who is a high school student who loves science, riding bikes and seeing her friends. Someday she wants to be a doctor or a nurse! In FAM Welcome Song, the cast serenaded Olivia as they sang about back pain and wanting to be her patient. Pillars featured audience members Ciara and Judi helping out when words were needed during the story of a child who bottomed out and needed to call the Ghostbusters. Quickest Minute had the cast doing “A Christmas Story” in a minute or less! This frantic retelling was followed by Timmy In the Well, where James needed his dogs to help him figure out Marie Antoinette got beamed up to a grocery store. Thankfully he had Josh, Amy and audience member Lynn giving him wonderful clues!

Action Figures was next, with Gordon and audience member Shannon moving Daniel and Amy. They were going parasailing and someone just may have been overcompensating… Blank Walks Into a Bar had the cast making up groaners about science teachers, Madonna and Adele. In Follow That Action, a proposal on a cliff was rudely interrupted and Disney only hired English speaking squirrels. The final game was Debate Club, with Cyn, Gordon, Judi and myself joining the cast on stage. We debated about where the world was going, twerking cartoons and bad accents.

FAM1 112814Welcome to our final family friendly show of the 7th season! We had Daniel, Josh, Amy, Alex L, Candice and David on board making the lively audience laugh at the Warwick Musuem of Art. The show’s FAM was Eliana, who is a 7th grader. She loves science and built her own microscope, which is pretty awesome. She likes her cats, reading and her cousins. For FAM Remake, Disney Princess Mulan had to fight a rabid fox and Eliana’s cat was too full to move 10 feet. It was obviously a fantasy film. In the western version. the cat volunteered to go up against the loser of a duel. We also witnessed the silent film & Disney musical versions before the director was satisfied. Trolley Stop had help from audience members Eliana, Coco and Theo, where Josh had a very confusing fight.

Sing It! was next where rent was owed to Larry the zombie and Amy had a special Christmas wish. Audience members Rob and Phil helped out Daniel and Josh in Helping Hands, where Fanta was thrown in someone’s face as they fought over sweets. This was followed by Two Headed Monster, with Candice and audience member Jacob eating everything in sight. Spelling Bee had audience members Katrina, Coco and Sebastian helping the cast member spell words like caring and microscope. In Chainsaw, Gordon and audience member William helped out as a pirate went to a Black Friday sale with a sock. Or was it a lumberjack accountant in Alaska with a puppet? It depends on who you ask. The final game of the show was Curtain Call, with the cast singing about calling Jenny and listening to music.

20141128_184301It’s the last youth show of 2015. Tonight Emily, Dylan, Rob and Rachel bring everything they have for a roaring good time. Our FAM tonight is Jim who works as a Human Resource Manager for a linen store, wants to go to Denmark and loves the color blue-ish.

A Day in the Life of Jim taught us that coffee is dangerous. In Trolley Stop we wait till the end to see Denmark. In Chainsaw a dentist in a library with a machete became still a dentist in a library but with a book. In Freeze tag Zach clearly does not care. In Two Headed Monster “beautiful” Rob from Norway is told very obvious facts. Finally Spelling Bee where Dog is an animal and Play is a thing. See you in 2015!

20141126_105159It is our second show of the day at Norton Middle School and we are ready to bring it! This time our FAM was Ethan who loves buffalo wing and mashed potato buffets for lunch and would love to be a hawk-worm!

So let’s dive back into Pillars, where we need to pass lunch with a 2.0 as long as we learn that 1+1 equals gravy! Two Headed Monster gave us the invention of dog soup. And in the most deep and fantastic set of suggestions ever, Timmy in the Well had Gandhi¬†causing Global Warming in a Burger King. There are so many wrong and awesome things with that suggestion. The students of NMS made me once again have to “win” at Highlander so I could do a whole scene about a hawk-worm, his nosey neighbors and the Keebler¬†Elves. For our final game Action Figures found the principal unable to get students onto the bus. It was a blast once again and we hope to see you again next year NMS!

20141126_095131We are back at Norton Middle School this morning for our 5th Annual show! They love having us and we love being here! As usual, it takes two shows for all 700 students to see us, so here is show #1! Our cast was Candice, Cyn and Myself and our FAM for this show was Norah. She is a 6th grader who loves English, hate Math and loves the movie Blended.

So we begin in Math class with a game of Pillars where the desks are causing us to fail because the gum is not as tasty. Next up in Two Headed monster we made football cake with pineapple juice that you may not have because it’s mine. Timmy in the Well had Scooby-Doo eaten by a gummy-bear on a Rainbow. Highlander found myself having to do a scene all by myself all about Batman’s true arch-villain, the Monopoly Man. In action figures we learned that making coffee in the teachers lounge is very painful. And Sing It gave us hit songs about tiny hot dogs and selling combo meals. Show number 1 down…

I20141121_220642t’s 9:00 at the Warwick Museum of Art and that means time for BYOI! Our cast tonight was Daniel, Josh, Cyn, James, and Alex W. and our Featured Audience Member was Jennifer. She’s a network analyst who likes to knit scarves, Big Bang Theory, and chocolate cake. Our first game of the night was Sing It, where we learned that “tail fur belongs on the cat.” Questions was up next where our cast couldn’t quite seem to figure out if Serenity was a day spa or a space ship, and whether or not filet mignon contained any elephant. This was followed by World’s Worst, where our cast had to come up with some examples of the world’s worst taxidermist, vacation spots, and TV show ideas.

Next up was Interrogation Line-Up which featured the heinous crime of picking your nose on a camel with Bob Dylan. Try That On For Size was next where we saw such activities as playing catch with your imaginary dad, milking a baby caterpillar, and juggling piglets. Then we played Sports Commentator which featured competitive dish-washing but had the added twist of having to wash a puppy with the silverware. This was followed by Six Pack which featured a scene about chocolate cake. Our last game of the night was Curtain Call, where we learned that Stick Man was a bad super hero.

20141121_202608It’s 7:00 at the Warwick Museum of Art and that means BYOI’s family friendly show! Tonight our cast was Daniel, Josh, Cyn, James, and Alex W. Our Featured Audience Member was birthday boy Conner who just turned 12, loves music class, Minecraft, and Modern Family. Our first game was Day In The Life where we needed a reality check because COW!!! Up next was Trolley Stop which featured such characters as Poseidon, Australians, pirates, and monkeys. This was followed by Catch Phrase which took place at the North Pole, where one person could only say “Go to class” and “Where’s the bathroom?” while the other could only say “The building is collapsing” and “Where am I?”

Action Figures came next where our players had to clean their room (and not crush the Legos while doing so). This was followed by Troubadors where we learned such important lessons as everything in Hawaii is filled with hot chocolate and that sharks are just friendly dolphins. Then came Busta Rap, where our cast had to rhyme such words as cat, corn, game, shirt, and fries. Chainsaw was next, where we saw a ballerina nurse become a paramedic police officer (well, at least it was still two jobs jammed into one), a butcher shop become a low-tech rock quarry, and a cotton ball become Fonzie’s comb. Our last game of the night was Spelling Bee, where our cast had to spell dog, apple, pressure, hypothesis, and apocalypse.

It20140328_221735‘s 6:00 at the Warwick Museum of Art and that means it’s time for BYOI’s Youth Collaborative pre-show! Tonight our cast was Emily, Rose, Rob, and Rachel and our Featured Audience Member was Linda. She likes chocolate chip cookies, dogs, Kenya, and spring. Our first game of the night was Revolver where, while we were none too sure if that was a rhinoceros or not, we were sure that people “call me spaghetti pants.” Next up was the Quickest Minute, where our cast told the story of Jack & The Beanstalk in under 60 seconds – apparently the giant was known to say “How many times do I have to tell you to get out of here?”

Timmy In The Well was next which featured Christopher Columbus getting hit on the head with a piano on a space station. Then we played Because I Said So where we learned that Santa doesn’t get enough recognition. This was followed by Alphabet which started out with the topic “blond” and surprisingly enough, no actual blond jokes were made. Our last game of the night was Two-Headed Monster which featured no animal attacks because “this hyena went to obedience school.”

I20141114_220114t’s 9:00 at the Warwick Museum of Art and that means Bring Your Own Imrpov! Tonight our cast featured Daniel, Amy, Cyn, Ian, and James and our Featured Audience Member was Joel. he plays video games for a living (how do I get that job?) and wants to go to Rome to see the Coliseum with his wife Diane. Our first game of the night was Say It Again which was, apparently, all about flying kites in the park after dark. Pillars was up next, where we heard such memorable lines as “Why are we from Utah?”, “You’re insulting my meatloaf”, and of course “Strange travelers make me tired.” Then we played Story, Story, Die, which was going fine until one of them realized they weren’t real.

Up next was Good Cop, Bad Cop, where our suspect was accused of the heinous crime of not wearing pants at the gym with Kermit the Frog. Then we played Sit, Stand, Lie Down, where we saw a video game tester get stuck in the pizza on the floor. Trolley Stop was next which featured existentialists, circus seals, and more pants-less people. This was followed by Sing It – “We love how your girth comes through the door almost effortlessly.” Enough said on that, I think. Our last game of the night was Debate Club which raised such valid points as “the people in court are the courtroom people”, “she switched her Richards”, and of course “Kim Kardashian is 100% real.”
