20150529_221126On to the 9pm show continuing with David, Amy, Ian, Alan and Myself! The 9pm FAM was Jubilee who is a musician by trade, plays golf and thinks most things are cooool. So in FAM Pillars we had a cool trip to Bora Bora where the yogurt tastes like fiches figs.

A quick stop to the Trolley Stop gave us Christopher Walken and Opera Singers, followed by Freeze Tag where some high fives are just too low. Timmy in the Well had Amy guessing that Austin Powers bought walkie talkies at Macy’s with the great help of the FAM’s friend Jessica. We learned the World’s Worst country song gives us Marriage, a job and a new dog. Then Action Figures found that Ian can just not swing far enough. Finally we finished up with Highlander where Ian could not rhyme with Duck and Tina Fey might hulk out!

20150529_201505It’s 7:00pm and BYOI is large and in charge on the stage with David, Ian, Amy, myself and our newest member Alan in his first show as an official cast member! Our FAM tonight was Kara who is a director of human resources, loves to hike on Block Island and enjoys reading mysteries.

So we start the night off with FAM Pack where we had a 20 speed big wheel and a Daddy who knows best! Next up was Try That on for Size where we made box forts, spied on the Kardashians and threw syrup! In Say It Again, Ian and Amy had a new son in the family, so why not detail him with Trapper Keeper stickers. Alan was arrested for taking out the trash in a toy store with Pinocchio in Good Cop/Bad Cop. Then the epic film Presumed Decaf had Block Island swarming with Sea Urchins. The Quickest Minute gave us a 1 second version of Aladdin and Slogans that people in Human Resources are in it for the benefits. We finished up with Do Run and had a fantastic night!

20150529_185243It’s Friday night and the Youth Collective is on the stage with Emmie, Rachel, Maddie, Ryan and the FAM Lauren! Lauren is a mom who use to be an organic farmer, loves anything pickled (except for eggs) and wants a certain daughter to make her a vegetarian lasagna for a special occasion.

The kids began with Say It Again where the Little Mansion on the Prairie has an organic farm in it. In What Are You Doing we learned to go long for the football. Now it’s time for the Dating Game where Queen Elizabeth (who plans on being dead in 20 years apparently), an Ice Cream Shop and Physics were all available for a date. Then Back in My Day we din’t have Lego Land, so you could only step on a bug. Our Two Headed Monster was hard at work in a Fruit Roll Ups factory and Maddie had to make a vegetarian lasagna all by herself in Highlander.

Then we played Press Conference, where a controversial sports figure announced he was gay. This was followed by Lines From a Cup, which was a scene all about buying a house in Hawaii. Story, Story, Die was next, which was all about how Henry the psychiatrist fed the homeless. Tonight our cast was Daniel, David, Cyn, Josh, Candice, and Alex L. and our Featured Audience Member was Phil. He’s a Financial Adviser who likes hanging out with his kids, chips & hot salsa, and sailboats. Our first game of the night was Do Run, where we heard that “mood” does not rhyme with “good”. Next up we played Growing & Shrinking, which featured France and Sweden claiming the same land, a three-man staring contest, and group salsa-making. This was followed by Revolver, which featured scenes about going to South America on the corporate card to go skiing, mad scientist broccoli soup, army man doughnuts for grumpy people, and tired tire swings.

Excuses, Excuses was next, where Josh was late to work because he slept in late, the escaped monkeys attacked his car, and the Batmobile crashed into his car. Next we played Meanwhile, which featured a scene about inept bank robbers and even more inept cops. IMAG4647And we are back for the 9pm edition of BYOI, with the same cast and our Super FAM’s Wendy & Kevin! Wendy & Kevin filled a card and no one could decide which one of them should be FAM… so we took both of them! Wendy & Kevin met in camp when they were 9. They want to visit Figi, love going to Flea Markets and found a signed Ayn Rand book at one. Oh yeah, their cat Chedder i mean!

So we began with FAM Greatest Hits where we sung songs about Toga Weddings in West Warwick & “Get Hard” a song about a mean cat first thing in the morning. Then in The Good, The Bad & The Ugly we learned the best way to bathe a cat is to shave it! In Short Cutz we found a clingy donkey on Prozac and in Pavlovian Response, it was a “ding-a-ling” of a good time! Next up Guidance (Camp) Counselor where we needed to watch of for sticks and found a very itchy bench! Spelling Bee had us defining Spelunking after we murdered the spelling of it and Debate Club taught us that Free Parking is Canadian Socialism!

Good news! We just added a new cast member tonight! After two successful shows and some great audience feedback, we voted to have Alan join us in the cast! See our next newsletter to learn more!

20150515_202306Good evening and welcome to another edition of the BYOI Blog! For the 7pm show we have on David, Daniel, Josh, Candice, Alex and our auditioner for tonight, Alan! Our FAM for this show is Catie! Catie loves Fall Out Boy, reading Percy Jackson, hates One Direction, has to clean the Sun Room and comes to many shows to see her Dad perform! So we of course got to see a day in Catie’s life where David played Catie (deep!) and we saw that Catie has a shrinking Sun Room, coffee makes her hyper and her chorus teacher thinks she has a deep raspy voice.

So next up, we played Freeze Tag where we saw the new edition of the Lion Cow King! Then we played Remake where we saw the End of the Universe… or the worst salad name ever. Everything Emporium had Alan scrambling around to find A chocolate wasp that plays the ukulele, a rake you can fly on and a musket-stash! Lines from a Cup almost got Candice chopped down because an axe is worth more than diamonds. In Quick Scenes we found the office you need to go to to apply for an email address once you have filled out the form in triplicate. And finally in Curtain Call we learned that Dragon’s are not hairy!

FAM2 050815Thanks for joining us again for another great show at the Warwick Museum of Art! We still had Josh, Candice, David, Ian and Amy on stage. The late night show’s FAM was Mike, who came to the show with a bunch of great people. Mike works inventory at Walmart and wants to visit family in North Carolina. Why is that significant? Because our family friendly show’s FAM also wanted to visit there! Mike loved the film “The Day After Tomorrow” and would be every tiger because they’re ferocious! The cast serenaded Mike in FAM Do Run before starting to play Freeze Tag! Audience members Alan and Shane jumped up to help as wondered who took the phone and learned that straight hairdressers aren’t as good.

Josh was the constant in Centerpiece, as he did scenes with Candice and David, as well as audience members Jim and Jordan. Someone needed more hand sweat, breakfast was wanted and Jim took method acting to a new level! Party Quirks had Amy hosting a get together with friends who included Josh as a toaster, David as Shakira and Shane as a guy who danced every time he heard the word “and.”

Say It Again was next, with the Candice, Ian and Alan performing a scene with a Christopher Walken whale who loved puns. In Post It, audience members Sheila, Alex and Tom jumped up to help. We witnessed short scenes about strange combinations like candle/igloo, drama teacher/tomahawk and abacus/samurai sword. In Tableau, the cast as well as audiene members Kate and Nikki made pictures of Walmart, the day after tomorrow and a tiger. Finally, the cast closed out the night asking to be taken back home to Walmart in Curtain Call.

BYOI – Cat-Ham: The Cutest Thing Ever!

FAM1 050815Happy Friday, everyone! We had a great show at the Warwick Museum of Art with Candice, Ian, David, Josh and Amy. The family friendly show’s FAM was one of our regulars, Carolyn! She’s in the 5th grade and loves science and history. She hopes to go visit a friend in North Carolina soon, and made up the cutest animal hybrid ever: the cat/hamster hybrid. I’m pretty sure everyone felt the joy radiating from Candice! For FAM Centerpiece, Carolyn did 4 different scenes with the cast, and as usual, was a pro. They did scenes about learning to swim, playing a strange RPG and building a giant lincoln log house.

In Fortunately/Unfortunately, Amy was joined by Carolyn’s mom Karen as they told the story of Josh and Candice. They were going to visit a friend but pulled a hamstring, sued for malpractice and learned everything they knew about the law from watching “Legally Blonde” a bunch of times. In Questions, audience members Alan and Jim joined the cast on stage for scenes that answered lots of questions, like if Candice could tell others aboot being Canadian, and who reads parchments anymore?  The Dating Game was next, where David was looking for love. He had to choose between Ian as Tom Hanks, Josh as a blanket and Amy as a person who had OCD about swimming.

OCD makes me think of counseling, so thankfully Guidance Counselor was next! Ian had great advice for his students, and a random firefighter! Candice had pulled a muscle, David thought his reading teacher was uncool and Alan was a firefighter who ran out of water. Up next was Slogans with the cast and audience member Jim coming up with taglines for hammocks, frozen lemonade and cat-hams. Sports Commentator had Amy and Alan hosting the World Weeding Competition! Josh and Carolyn tried to sabotage each other with dung beetles and pollen…it was a very dirty competition! The show ended with Busta Rap, with Karen and Jim brave enough to rap battle with the cast. Ultimately Jim won! Congrats!
