Tonight is our Late Night show with the cast of Erich, Jonathan, Tim, Alan, Barbara, and Daniel. Our FAM tonight is Rose, who has just graduated out of our Youth Collective classes — Congratulations, Rose!  She’s been coming to our shows since Valentine’s Day 2014 after seeing us at First Night Providence.  Her first ever volunteer was for Fortunately/Unfortunately and she mimed.   The most embarrassing thing Rose’s sister, Dana has done to her convinced her she was adopted. Her favorite improv scene was one in which she was a narcoleptic bus driver. Her favorite restaurant is any cute little French restaurant that serves macarons and also the Olive Garden.  After graduating college, Rose wants to do marketing for the Tour de France.

Rose enthusiastically helped our cast with a round of Fortunately/ Unfortunately in which Jonathan and Erich mimed Rose, unfortunately, countered Daniel’s fortunate tale of Rose meeting her boyfriend at the Renaissance Faire.  It was a tale involving fencing, karate, and hogging the space on stage.

Our audience volunteers helped our cast form Tableaus of Renaissance Faires, the Muppets, college, and a fashion show. Next up was Pillars, in which our audience volunteers helped Daniel and Erich perform a scene about a couple of mimes on their break.  Apparently even when on break, mimes remain silent. It was time for the crowd favorite, Chainsaw.  Rose, Fritzi, and Aidan helped our cast inadvertently transform a jousting knight, Stonehenge, and a sponge bowling ball into a crime scene murder detective, a food truck that has its own chickens, and a weird elevator. We then moved on to the classic elimination scene game of Alphabet which started with a scene about adoption, progressed into the battle of the cereal characters (clearly how Battle Creek, MI got its name).  Jonathan and Erich made it through an entire cycle, and our newest cast member Tim, was hazed when Daniel made him do a scene as a ventriloquist, leaving his dummies to lament the woes of being a puppet. Our cast and a few volunteers then moved on to give examples of the World’s Worst examples of shirts, bus drivers, and a giant. The round-robin disassociation game of What Are You Doing was next.  Our cast and audience volunteers tossed a sheep, learned how to fly a plane blindfolded, brushed the teeth of a cat, tried to get additional breadsticks at Olive Garden. Our cast and Rose finished the show with Debate Club as they argued the fine points of high fashion.

It’s Friday night and BYOI is here with Erich, Amy, Jonathan, Tim, Alan and Barbara for our Family Friendly show! Our FAM tonight is Fritzi who came with her daughters Shae (Snarky) and Aidan (High Maintenance). She also has a rag doll cat named cookie who is very official. She also has someone who lives close to her who is a parasite. She wants her house totally cleaned, a meal made of an entire pig and a gift card to Kohls. In our first game of FAM Reunion Fritzi is holding the toilet paper hostage and things just got smellier.

Next up in Helping Hands, there were travesties at the bacon festival with spitting. Then in Two-Headed Monster, the new cleaning crew may need more training. Timmy in the Well helped us find out that Cher got attacked by a swan at a diner. In Movie Critics, we saw a bacon western called Greasy Parasite where Mr. Fancy Britches brought kicklines to the crispy, soft and soft serve bacon off. In Spelling Bee we learned that sorbat is cold and not cold when frozen and coogflagrayshun is a word. Next up Try That On for Size brought us checking out boogers, rubbing bunions and Love Boat planes. We finished with Curtain Call where we weren’t fakin’ our bacon and ragdoll cats like to catch mice.

Tonight’s a special night, it is Rose’s last BYOI Youth Collective Show because she is now 18. She has been with us for four years now and we are sad to see her go. In a bit of “luck,” her Mom Linda is the FAM tonight. Linda teaches cooking, had chickens on a farm, walks her dogs and wants to visit the Coral Reef of Austrailia. The first game of the night was Fortunately/Unfortunately where George the chicken needed a ride home from his buddy’s wife which he paid for with a Golden Egg.

Next up was Chainsaw where a ballerina in an ice cream bar with a feather turned into ballerina on a farm with a bubble. Then in Debate Club, we learned about math in everyday life and how free computers are paid for with school taxes. In Short Cutz, dog purses have doggie poop holes and Paypal credit cards. Finally, in Sit, Stand & Lie Down, apple juice is really strong in small fridges.

We had another great show with Amy, Jonathan, Josh, Emily, David and Audrey! Our FAM was Danue–I mean, Renee! She loves karaoke, painting and writing young adult fiction. FAM Reunion had Renee in Vegas with her cats at a dog communicator show. Along the way, her evil twin and the villain in her story showed up, and the cats were not amused.

Helping Hands had Jonathan and David frantically setting up for a party, but there was a fire along the way. They tried to grill meat, but it was difficult with a very small spatula. Movie Critics showed us the French film, “Le Giraffe,” which was about Geoffrey the Giraffe after the demise of Toys ‘R Us. Poppy joined him at the zoo, and a volcano erupted at the end. Next up was Timmy In the Well, where Amy had to figure out that Mr. Rogers had a flat tire in Hawaii.

Two Headed Monster had the monster at a bar, but the drinks were too fruity and not stiff enough. Audrey was a tough bartender, and demanded payment only in song. From there, we jumped over to Spelling Bee! There were some dubious definitions of words like ball, pencil, whizzbang, garbage, and hippopotamus. Try That On For Size had everyone doing weird things like checking a hippo’s temperature, milking an angry cow, and fistbumping all the people. The night ended with Say It Again, where Kevin Costner the cat was a really picky eater, Mr. Kittymeatface loved almost everyone, and we saw some amazing direction for the weirdest movie ever.

BYOI – Agressive Knitting

We had a fun family friendly show with Audrey, Amy, David, Emily, Josh and Jonathan. Our FAM was Marguerite! She’s a retired nurse who loves word search puzzles and knitting. She’d like to visit Rome to see the Pope, and she came to the show with the fantastic Cheryl and David. FAM Typewriter showed us the introduction of Marguerite and Roland, lots of scarves, a knitted bandage, and a trip with the kids.

Growing and Shrinking had stolen cheesy puffs, an iffy friendship, things covered in goo, and prize tickets. Sing It had the police at the scene of aggravated knitting. It was a ton of fun! Next up, Jonathan was Mickey Mouse, who discovered instant teleportation in Press Conference.

Meanwhile had a hungry bull who couldn’t run people over or eat them, and really expensive hummus. From there, we went over to Slogans. The cast and a few brave audience members came up with one liners for turtles, swords, immersion blenders, and photo therapy. Trolley Stop then introduced us to members of the USS Enterprise, snake hunters, combative chickens, and snakes. The show ended with Do Run, as the cast sang about our FAM!

Our Late Night Comedy Show at the Warwick Center for the Arts featured Amy, Tim, Alan, Emily and Ian and our FAM Mackenzie who both goes to school and coordinates activities for senior living. She loves playing word games but does not like Bingo. At Dunkin, she wants a medium ice coffee with caramel swirl light and 5 Splenda, and if she could blend two animals she would blend a T-Rex and an Armadillo. We started off with a FAM Movie Critics, featuring “Me”, a biopic all about Mackenzie. After leaving the senior living center, she entered the Word Game Winter Olympics and lost a loved one to hypoperfusion for lack of a blanket, but she could not see John Cena. Growing and Shrinking Machine was all about Sharpies, sharpies, snowman reanimations, extension suggestions and physics indecisions. Meanwhile, the laser drifted off the target but Lord Vader found out and ran away, while the stormtroopers continued to miss the mark. During Press Conference, Josh had to guess that he was Timmy Turner from Fairly Odd Parents and he had invented the copy machine that makes copies of coffee.

Sing it was a majestic musical with songs about ice cream, disgruntled scoopers, excitement and screaming. Slogans followed that, with inventive slogans for such exciting concepts as tigers that sell cornflakes, swagalicious perfume, badminton that is good for you. BYOI Alumni Candice volunteered for Trolley Stop, where Johnny Mashed Potatoes and Phil the Cheesesteak met up with enthusiastic exercisers, feline lunar thesis papers, and suspicious Facebook Quizmasters. Our last game was and Irish Ditty for our FAM!

It is 7pm and our Family Friendly Show was a blast! We had Alan, Josh, Ian, Amy, Emily and Tim on cast, and our FAM was Athena who loves to sing but is recovering from a cold. She loves K-Pop and musical theater, and if she had a singing show, it would be hosted by Brendan Geary, not Ryan Seacrest. Her favorite aquatic animal is a penguin, and her favorite musical is Heathers. We started off the show with a FAM Sing It for Athena, featuring such rousing musical numbers as “What a Beautiful Bus Stop”, “Stretch Your Voice” and ‘Football Roundup”. The Good, The Bad and the Ugly taught us that good singers avoid burping on a stage coach, flowers and British uniforms make for a more civil reenactment, and we had our eyes on the contaminated candy. Short Cutz had us popping K corn with our small friends. Mom was bothering us while we played video games and we forgot to do our homework, but we jumped the penguins after we mastered economics.

Pavlovian Response had our volunteers and cast getting triggered! Every time someone lifts their arms, Tim had to do dishes. Every time someone did dishes, our audience volunteer had to chirp like a bird, and every time someone said “Watch”, Alan had to cough. Lines from a Cup featured Amy and Josh and our FAM. The cast of Jumanji had a snake in their boot and wanted free admission to Infinity Wars. Rope displayed our love for turtles, had the whole world in our hands, and the pretty dancing princess took a seat. Tableau painted pretty pictures of penguins, John and Jim and giant and a Slim Jim at the gym, and McDonalds was our kind of place with hamburgers in our face. Debate Club closed the show with a lively argument about the virtues of squeaky chickens. We had to buy the eggs to make them nurture, the geese squeaked too, and the chickens don’t throw.

It finally feels a little like spring on this Friday evening, and the Youth Collective show lent even more levity than the weather! Rose, Gussy and Aidan were on cast, and our FAM was Moises, who attends Trinity Academy for Performing Arts as a music major. He preferred genre is Jazz, and he plays several instruments. We kicked off the evening with a game of Freeze Tag. Jazz hands were a medical issue, the trunk was overstuffed, and the fish did not like being out of his bowl. During Party Quirks, Rose had to guess that Aidan was extremely happy about dead fish, and Gussy was turning into a goose. Then, we played Two-Headed Monster. The monster applied for a job, but training did not go so well. Taco Tuesday lost its’ shells, and the salsa was enough.

Revolver featured scenes about rock, viola, and family. The geode was too expensive, and the rock split in two. The flowers were crushed but the holiday seating arrangements were successful. Utensils worked in a pinch, the games were discussed, and the bank account was emptied. Gussy won a creative game of Highlander featuring an overworked mom making pasta for very difficult children. Bickering about ketchup and chewing made mom more and more flustered, but she had a trick up her sleeve (or in the sock).

What a fun night for our late night show witn Audrey, Jonathan, Krissy, David, Tim, and Daniel! Our FAM was Shannon, who is a college student. She wants to grow up to play with animals and not eat them. Shannon does improv and acapella at Wheaton College, where she met our own Audrey! FAM Last Line, First Line had the Eiffel Tower being supported, clown camp, and zombies!

The show started off with Good, Bad, and Ugly. We learned out to stay hydrated…or not, what to do with spaghetti (protip: don’t thow it at mom), and how to perform improv. Lines From a Cup was a blast! Daniel and Jonathan were joined by a brave audience member. They were on a commune farm with a Wookie, and Audrey approved of that message. Next up was Pavlovian Response, with a hamster on a train. There was lots of face touching, pulse taking, and pushups. Sorry, Tim!

Say It Again had Krissy rooming with David and audience member Paul. The guys had weird pizza habits, and the lease said no cows. Rope spaghetti between fingers, building climbing, bad ratings, and a souffle for one. Tableau followed this, with scenes at Wheaton College, France, and the zoo. The final game of the night was Highlander! David, Tim, Audrey and Jonathan were playing kids playing with blocks. Duplos were trash, windows weren’t green, and the code said everything needed to be three bricks tall.

We had a fun family friendly show with Jonathan, Audrey, Daniel, David, Krissy, and Tim! Our FAM was Antigone, who is a mom and bartender. She loves reading romance novels, but not sappy sad ones. FAM Remake had a French film about hiding in a restaurant where a brother was guilted to death. Thankfully, love could conquer all when it came to an alien invasion, and fluffy bunny pajamas were acceptable dinner atire.

Freeze Tag had the conquering of sides of the bedroom, car keys in the ravine, and a hippo needed to get in the tub. Revolver had a single corn instead of a unicorn and a 9 year old learning how to woo a girl. From there, Tim had company in Party Quirks! Audrey was a koala that drinks tea, Krissy was really angered by straws, and audience member Kat was a music fangirl.

This was followed by Last Line, First Line! We witnessed a really enthusiastic shopping trip and really weird products. Up next was Quick Scenes, with uncoordinated twins, pet hair everywhere, and environmentally friendly vandalism. Sports Commentator had the laundry and dishes done super fast. Finally, the show ended with Curtain Call.
